A/C is good. we can now live again. Got home after 9 hours and potted the plants [info]zrana bought. Not enough potting soil for the plants, so one more pot to go, and a couple fried because they weren't watered already and blew over with the strong wind because they were only in their plastic trays. I will probably be keeping an eye on them, since I'm the one with gardening experience=P

My kitty wants to cuddle now. He's happy that it's cooler too. On to other things.

It's so muggy and hot. Sigh. Fans are not to be compared to A/C, though it's good we have them.

I'm trying to sleep but can't and don't have the energy to do much. Jeez. In the meantime my roommie is being worked daily by her employer, with the upcoming management role. I've been busy with work and WOW, though I really need to clean/organize my room and so on.

Lucky news. I'm okayed to be in the writing fiction course this fall=D I guess I'll be taking my thesis credit in the spring, though I'll be researching and preparing in the fall. I'm hoping to read everything "literature"-wise this summer. Plus study up on the language requirement.

Friday crept up on me. I have a bad headache though.

WOW is eating my time, as I'm leveling up my warrior undead. I love it when she cannibalizes the enemy. It's very twisted and evil. I killed my first enemy player yesterday. A rogue attacked while I was fighting a monster/creature. I stopped killing the monster and went after them. That's my policy. Leave me alone, or I will try to kill you. Down they went. Mwahahahaha. It was nice to finally kill one. Most who attack are skulls at least ten levels above and you have no chance of beating them. Or they're in packs and camp on you. I like questing more than killing enemy players...but if I'm attacked, I like to strike back.

Finally all the catch up for work is over, now I have one day off, then work on the weekend. Acen was fun enough. Today after work, we went to see the new Indiana Jones movie. Much love=D I won't reveal anything, but I'd love to see it again. Definitely going to have to buy. It was the first Indy movie I saw in the theater, I think. Maybe I saw Temple of Doom in the theater, but not sure. I think I did, because I remember lifting my feet during the bugs part. I was little though. The new movie was awesome, though. I've always had a bit of a crush on Harrison Ford, anyway=D

YEAH!

I'm pretty excited, even though this is like two days late. FUNIMATION is releasing the One Piece series from the BEGINNING! That's right, finally the loopholes and the redtape have been dealt with and the rights have been reverted to FUNIMATION! YEAH! That was the highlight of the con for me. I really can't wait for the first box set to come out... Dude, it's awesome! Too bad I didn't win the collectible figures they had a raffle for...but it wasn't for lack of trying.

Acen was pretty cool. I didn't wait in many lines for autographs this time though. Just wasn't in the mood to wait, I guess. I did go to a couple panels, and hang out in the dealer's room. The fun one was the 'life after power rangers' panel. Pretty interesting, actually. nice to see one of my childhood star crushes was still amazingly toned. Best part was when the actor for Lord Zedd did his voice. It was great! Power ranger fans cheered for the villain!

took out the cat litter, trash. made sure my cats have fresh food and water. now waiting for my roommate to return with the van so we can be at the meeting place at 9:30am. Jeez. I think she likes to run late. She does it so often.

I am bringing alternate stuff to do at the con, since there is little I want to do. They have an impressive list of guests, however, there aren't that many that I have things to sign for. I'd love a One Piece signing with all the major voices. Maybe Ohayocon?

Went to the local children's zoo with [info]zrana and her friend. It was a lot of fun. But I was just a little scared on the safari sky lift, white knuckled the whole way. It's been a long time since I was that high in a small contraption. Freak out city. And it wasn't moving fast or anything, I just suddenly felt claustrophobic and panicked. Strange indeed. At any rate, we stopped a local used book store and I found some books for my thesis. Thank God! I needed to buy them before the writing my sherlock holmes thesis anyway. I plan to read them over the summer=D In the fall I'll be working on it.

Have been playing [info]zrana 's Wii and have gotten addicted to Mario Kart. Super Smash Brothers as well. I really wasn't sure I liked Smash brothers as I never ever got to figure out the characters the two times I played it before and died almost instantly. This time was able to try many different characters=D Weirdly enough I kicked butt with the pokemon characters. That strangely terrifies me...=P

Sleepy. I went to bed at midnight, though I knew I had to work at 7 am. [info]zrana has a friend in town (just arrived last night) and they were up late talking. The first two hours after bedtime were a little louder, but I turned on the fan for background noise. Every time I started falling asleep I heard a laugh or giggle. DOOM. How is it possible to sleep when you think you're missing out? I tried though. Pillows are usually good sound blockers. And they did try to be considerate. I just have trouble sleeping when there's stuff going on, especially if it sounds fun. And the random laugh can really wake you up if it's quiet.

Today was okay. Some customers are jerks. URGH. Some are awesome. Thank heaven. I'd hate working retail if there weren't some nice people. I was really exhausted today though. And the stool was locked in the office, so I couldn't sit down for a minute *really, I've timed it, I sit down, customer comes. There was a big meeting yesterday, and they probably didn't even think about it. I managed to get quite a bit of cleaning done at any rate. It was impossible to get involved doing anything though. Constantly busy... We're definitely picking up more business.

nap time, then to call mom=D

Today was a long 9.5 hour day at work. I only work weekends, so a 9 hour shift is no biggie. At any rate, I was busy. We had a meeting about loss prevention. That's a good thing. I think it will be a more safeguarded system than the previous one.

We have mother's day cards and roses for sale. A customer bought a white/cream rose, then gave it to me. I was touched. A lot of our customers are locals who are regulars. It's nice to be thought of. Even though I'm not a mom=D Keeping it out of the reach of the kitties, though.

Yesterday I woke up super early to start upon the rest of my paper, which was due at noon. At 8 am I got a hyper call from my roommate to go buy the Wii, and she'd pay me back... Although I only had 7 pgs written, there was enough time to go and get back to write the rest, though not as much time to proofread it. Hopefully I did okay, I have to get at least a B in the class to pass it as a grad student. Yikes. At any rate, she's asleep and I have no money =( I'll have to deposit it soon... so there's no interruption on my finances...or the automatic withdrawals/payments.

I'm debating making hot dogs with something else. We still don't have fresh milk, so I may end up eating out instead. I just hate spending money when it's kind of tight before ACEN. My kitty is cuddling me =D I suppose I could actually go for a walk or something and get out of the apartment. We're having a guest come Sat, and [info]zrana promised to do the dishes. I still have to take out the garbage. I think we'd cook more, but we both hate doing the dishes. Last apartment had a dishwasher =)

Obama won our county, if not the state. Voting is pretty important, I'll have to get my driver's license renewed before the election since it expires and they made a new photo id law in Indiana. urgh.

Ryo...say what
One more class, and my ten page paper, plus a two page response. oh yeah. It should be fine, I'll write it tomorrow, rough draft, anyway. It's not due until next week though. I also need to take back my library books. WOW is fun, but man, are people evil. The game is player vs player, but still... if it's not an enemy player ganking a low level player, then it's a team player honing in on your hard work and taking the spoils. Jeez. There are some decent players at least. It usually happens that you don't run into the nice ones very often...

It got cold today, so I caved and turned the heat on. 45 degrees outside required a little boost of heat.

I still can't sleep tonight, but hopefully I'll be rested in order to write my paper. I may or may not make meatloaf tomorrow...it depends on my progress on the paper.

Coolness. After work today I went to a get together at a friend's. We just hung out and watched a movie there, then went to see "The Forbidden Kingdom" with Jet Li and Jackie Chan. Much love!!!! I love this movie. It was awesome. I want to go see it again...but I doubt I can afford it. I'm definitely buying it. What a great time!

I have to write an essay and a paper... among other things. Yawn. I also need to take care of dishes and STILL organize my room. Jeez. I should be more energetic at this point...

In good news, the government bribe money aka tax refund-economic jumpstart will be arriving pre-Acen. Every little bit helps. Oh yeah. I should go for a walk. I've been inside for the last week-ish. But there's construction on the street I usually walk on or take to go to school. So annoying. I wonder what I should do...even a nap sounds awesome. I feel really tired, probably because of getting sick three out of the last four weeks. Jeez.

I watched "Enchanted" and laughed a lot. Pretty interesting. Good choice of cast, loved Susan Sarandon...she's awesome.

I'm awake now because someone turned on the back porch light, which filters into my room. Gonna have to move stuff to block it, I think. I already have light coming from the next door house, since they leave a hallway light on all the time, and it always comes into my room.

I think I have a sinus headache... I'll be happy when I am finished with this stupid cold. At least I have some medicine.

Today I had a big scare. My cat Dickens almost got outside. My roommate didn't shut the front door all the way, though she thought she did, and a gust of wind opened it. We're really going to have to watch that. It happened once when the cable guy came, he thought he shut it and it wasn't shut firmly. There's no impediment to the cats going outside without that door being closed. I had to run downstairs, while on the phone with a friend, to keep him from going out. It's my worst fear. We're in the city, with cars, people, and other animals that may not be cat-friendly. I'm protective of my cats, because I love them. I definitely don't want to lose them, or have them get hurt. Hopefully if we're careful it won't happen again. They're exclusively indoor cats, so it's important they remain that way. I've lost too many pets from being indoor/outdoor to consider that an option.

I should go to bed but my head hurts. Ah well...

I'm fighting allergies or a cold. I'm also in the middle of an ongoing One Piece marathon. I love it. My cats are sacked out around my room. It's hard to get motivated when you see them cuddling or sleeping. It makes me want to take a nap. Well I did stay up late also and my Siamese thinks that I shouldn't sleep at all, only play and give attention to him. He's been naughty recently.
I'm not sure if I'll get the pt job at the library like I am hoping. I should probably call on Monday to check my status. I will get a pt job somewhere, because I want to buy fun stuff this summer, instead of only paying bills.
We're getting ready to go to Acen in May, hopefully everyone gets their money to me before the deadline. We're going to have to keep two hotel rooms because of how many people there are going.
Sleepy...yawn...

So yesterday my muffler fell off. Wth? Honestly, I knew this was a really cheap car when I bought it. Who can afford a $30000 car with $200/mo insurance payments? Few people. Not me, definitely. I should correct this, actually, the muffler is still hanging on and I'll have to detach it so I can drive safely. I'll have to wait to the summer to get it replaced, unfortunately. It'd be great if I didn't need to drive at all, but the US is not the place of public transportation.

EDIT: One of my very kind neighbors helped me get the still clinging muffler off, so I could drive it safely. AWESOME!

Meanwhile I've been ignoring my desire to clean/organize and arrange my room, though I should do it this evening. I read a novel for lit class, "The Story of an African Farm" and I have to admit that one of the character's spiritual quest and developing religion is close to my own quest. I found that interesting, but didn't remark on it. I haven't been that with it in class for the last two weeks. Having been sick and only "Present".

Acen is around the corner, and I should have the funds to go without problems. I'm just trying to save where I can...a difficult thing since moving expenses were INSANE. I at least make enough for bills every month. But I really want to buy the next volume of Prince of Tennis...and the other volumes of manga I saw in the store...sigh.

So in one week, I started getting over being sick, then got the flu. This entire week I've been extremely sick. So much for organizing or arranging my room. Sigh. I am having trouble getting motivated to do anything right now, because we [info]zrana and I just got back from a hour and half walk through our downtown. It's broad daylight, so it was relatively safer...still, we had a moment of yikes when she realized she still had over $100 in her pocket from yesterday's magic the gathering cards sale. While we're walking downtown through the bail bonds area... Jeez...I held my cherry coke bottle in readiness as we traipsed through town...ready for anything...at least I think so=P

Many things happening, and I still have to catch up with LJ. Jeeez. I tried both Spanish and French, and am sticking with French for the time being. I'll probably go back and learn Spanish at another time. It was a bit confusing taking both at the same time...at least I mixed up one or two words, which really isn't that bad, but my grade was better in French for some reason. I'm currently playing WOW, very busily, and also trying to unpack and organize. So much stuff O.O

I wonder why I still have so much? No matter, I'm a pack rat, anyway. I have to unpack four or so more boxes, and take care of some baskets and bags...then done.

Finally got the first dvd of Trinity Blood from Funimation due to an issue at ACEN. Actually they had a series of moves and lost our paperwork... We actually received the box set...though we would have been happy with the first dvd as they promised. I guess they figured they had made us wait far too long and wanted to make it up to us...and boy did they! Trinity Blood is awesome. I sent the information for the club members, so they should also receive it very soon.

Club is in awhile, and I'm sleepy. I'm really comfy in my pajamas. I wish I could wear them to the meeting... YAWN>
